STEM Tools

  • If you are a STEM teacher or a Primary School Teacher than maybe you can find these tools interesting.

    1. Matific

Online mathematics teaching resource for schools. Focuses on improving core skills such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and more. It was founded by Prof. Raz Kupferman, an expert on math education and a former head of the Einstein Institute of Math at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Now it offers abundent mathematics content for primarely Primary school students, from K1 - K6.

Unfortunately itis not completely free, but youcan get a school account. During COVID-19 lockdown the free version was availale. To learn more visit their officila websites which are translated to more than 30 worldwide languages as Matific has offices all around the world.

    2. Stellarium - explore the stars :)

    3. PlantNet Identification app available in Google Play.

Pl@ntNet is an application that allows you to identify plants simply by photographing them with your smartphone. Very useful when you don't have a botanist on hand! Pl@ntNet is also a great citizen science project: all the plants you photograph are collected and analysed by scientists around the world to better understand the evolution of plant biodiversity and to better preserve it.

Could be useful for Biology teachers if they want to involve their students to explore. Great if you have school tablets or iPads and have this app installed.

    4. PHet - Interactive Simmulations

Phet are mainly Physics interactive simulations created by University of Colorado, but you can find many other for Biology, Maths, Chemistry, Earth Science etc.

I am sure you know few more, so share them with us in Wakelet Collection for Tools.
